Compliance & safety

Done
properly

Compliance is the part of haulage a customer never sees until it goes wrong. Here is how we run, stated plainly, with no claims we cannot evidence.

Driver hours

We plan work to GB and EU drivers' hours rules and working time regulations — daily and weekly driving limits, breaks and rest periods. Jobs are quoted against the hours legally available, not against the hours we would like to have.

Where a delivery cannot be made legally within the window a customer wants, we say so at the quoting stage and offer the realistic alternative instead of accepting the booking and hoping.

Vehicle maintenance

Vehicles run to a documented preventative maintenance inspection schedule with safety inspections, brake performance testing and annual test preparation. Records are retained for the period required by DVSA guidance.

Daily walkaround checks are completed and recorded before first use, with a defect reporting process that takes a vehicle off the road rather than deferring a safety-critical fault.

Load security

Loads are secured to DVSA load securing guidance, using restraint rated for the weight being carried. Straps, corner protection, dunnage and headboard positioning are matched to the goods rather than applied to a template.

Loads are checked before departure and re-checked after any partial unload on multi-drop work, so what is left on the bed is still restrained properly.

Standards we operate to

Plainly stated: we operate to the requirements of the Traffic Commissioner's undertakings for goods vehicle operators, the drivers' hours and tachograph rules, DVSA maintenance and load securing guidance, and our duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

We do not currently hold or claim any third-party accreditation scheme membership. If that changes, it will be published here with the certificate details rather than shown as a badge.
